On July 9th, at the 2022 Zhejiang University Wenzhou Research Institute Construction Promotion Conference with the theme of "Building a New Materials Industry Valley and Pursuing High Quality Development", Academician Ye Zhizhen personally awarded Zhejiang gpilot Technology Co., Ltd. the "Zhejiang University Wenzhou Research Institute gpilot Joint Research and Development Center".Zhang Jian, member of the Standing Committee of the Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the Organization Department, Zhou Tianhua, Vice President of Zhejiang University, Academician Zou Zhigang, Academician Ren Qilong, Academician Li Xiaokun, Academician Gao Xiang, Academician Zhao Min, Academician Wang Li, and other seven academicians gathered at the scene. Officials from relevant departments at both levels of the city, as well as representatives from Wenzhou Zhejiang University Alumni Association, Wenzhou Business Association, and investment and financing institutions, attended to witness the landing of new technologies and jointly build a community of scientific and technological innovation.

At the promotion meeting, the research institute appointed 15 well-known experts in the field of new materials, including Academician Zou Zhigang and Academician Ren Qilong, to form the New Materials Industry Expert Committee. The newly appointed presidents of local Wenzhou chambers of commerce, such as Wang Junjin and Wang Guoxin, expanded the advisory committee lineup. At the same time, Fan Xiaolei, a full-time professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the former top British research university Manchester University, was signed online to jointly promote innovation and development in the field of new materials.

In order to meet the development needs of local industries, the research institute has established a joint research and development center with companies such as Zhejiang gpilot Technology, committed to breaking the technological bottleneck in key areas. At the same time, Xue Ziye, Chairman of gpilot Technology Co., Ltd., was appointed as a member of the New Materials Industry Expert Committee of Wenzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University.
